Oaks is "fascinating speaker... welcome anytime."

Kevin McGehee, President of the ShelterCare Consumer Council, appreciated a presentation by David Oaks on 21 October 2011 at the Bill Uhlhorn Program, part of ShelterCare in Eugene, Oregon.

David's commitment to fight "normality," his desire to help reform mental health services, his empowering others to do the same, and his sense of the absurd... all show when he speaks.

He turned a potentially devastating personal event (forced psychiatric "treatment") into a good cause with the aim of sparing others a similar fate. 

He is a fascinating speaker on a definite mission. David is welcome to attend ShelterCare's Consumer Council Meetings anytime he wants.
