National Association for Rights Protection and Advocacy 25th Anniversary. Theme: "Social Justice - The Time Is Now." NARPA, a MindFreedom sponsor group, is seeking proposals which address strategies, ideas, programs, and emerging practices that support and promote NARPA's mission and commitment to individual rights, liberty, freedom, and dignity for people labeled with psychiatric disabilities. NARPA co-founded MindFreedom International. MindFreedom director David Oaks is one of the keynoters.

Cookie (1949 - 2003) was a founder of MindFreedom International's coalition, and was a rolling coalition herself: African American lesbian disabled psychiatric survivor artist photographer!
