Entry for November 12, 2006 Public invited to honor `Naked Guy' FAMILY, FRIENDS WANT TO CELEBRATE SHORT LIFE OF FREEDOM SEEKER He was known around the world in the early 1990s as "The Naked Guy," and he died in the throes of schizophrenia, but stories about Luis Andrew Martinez made only vague references to his problems with mental illness.

Linda Valentine of RAPS warns that Eli Lilly is introducing a new psychiatric drug called Symbyax which they are touting as the "1st drug approved by the FDA for the treatment of bipolar depression." Linda reports: "Symbyax is a combination drug. It is the combination of fluoxetine and olanzapine. That's right, friends. Symbyax is the combination of Prozac and Zyprexa, the very drug the Lilly falsified and withheld research data about. I'm not sure who's sleeping with who, but it's the patients who are getting screwed."

Laura Delano - Psychiatric survivor blogger activist

Laura works as a peer specialist in the traditional mental health system and writes a blog at madinamerica.com, where she is sharing her story of recovery from psychiatry. After living with psychiatric labels for 13 years and taking psychotropic medications for ten of them, Laura says she found liberation in 2010 from her psychiatric diagnoses, from her reliance upon the mental health system, and from the once deep-seated belief that she was sentenced to a life-long "mental illness." Laura says, "I am proud to be a member of the MindFreedom International community for all MFI does to promote equality, justice, and civil rights for people who have been labeled 'mentally ill.'"
