Here's a letter-to-the-editor about by MindFreedom board member Mary Maddock, founder of MindFreedom Ireland, published in the Irish Examiner. Mary's letter was part of a series of a letter and article published by the Irish Examiner highly critical of involuntary psychiatry, and psychiatric drugging.

Mary Maddock, a former nun and psychiatric survivor, gives her opinion that the root of mental and emotional problems is not in biology, but can be found in how we as a society address oppression. Mary is founder of MindFreedom Ireland and on the board of MindFreedom International. Mary is co-author with her husband Jim of the book Soul Survivor.

John McCarthy: Comparing a Diagnosis of Cancer and Psychiatric Disorder

John McCarthy of Mad Pride Ireland is one of the founders of MindFreedom Ireland. John recently was diagnosed and treated for cancer. In one of the main newspapers in Cork, Ireland, John compared the detailed treatment he was given for cancer, with the unscientific way he was treated when he had a mental and emotional crisis that left him suicidal.
