Give feedback to NY State "Recipient Affairs"

New York State Office of Mental Health "Recipient Affairs" is holding a public meeting on Monday, 23 July 2007 at 3 pm (extending to Tuesday). You are invited to speak out, especially speak out peacefully and strongly against involuntary electroshock!

OMH Recipient Advisory Committee will be held on Monday, 23 July 23 2007, at 3 pm, and will continue on Tuesday. Location:

DIRECTIONS:

FROM NEW YORK CITY:

Take I-87 North to Exit 21A (Mass Turnpike/Boston) take to Exit B1, go thru toll booths and continue on I-90 West.  Take Exit 10 off I-90 West.  Turn left and Comfort Inn and Suites is immediately on right.

FROM BUFFALO:

Take I-90 East toward Albany, New York. Take Exit 24 and follow I-90 East toward Boston for 12 miles. Take Exit 10 off I-90 East. Turn right and Comfort Inn and Suites is immediately on right.

Rae Unzicker & Justin Dart

Rae (1948-2001) was a psychiatric survivor activist who was a key bridge-builder between the entire disability movement and our movement to change the mentalh health system. Rae championed the National Council on Disability (NCD) report, From Privileges to Rights: People Labeled with Psychiatric Disabilities Speaking For Themselves. Rae is shown here with her beloved Justin Dart (1930 - 2002), widely considered one of the key disability activists of the last century, and also a bridge builder between our movements.
