Who was Opal Whiteley? by David W. Oaks — last modified 2007-07-10 10:26
Opal Whiteley grew up in Lane County and loved nature. She became one of the most famous authors to emerge from Lane County. Opal's life is still celebrated internationally, especially in Cottage Grove. Opal ended up in a psychiatric institution in England. For those of us who love nature, love being different, and/or have a psychiatric diagnosis... we are all Opal! Join the Opal Network!
