Unite in an international campaign to question how psychiatric corporations violate our human rights by trying to control us and our democracy through enforcement of "normal," with harmful labeling, forced drugging and electroshock.

Boycott Normal! Peacefully Occupy the Mental Health Industry

Launch of Boycott Normal Campaign in Eugene, Oregon 10 October 2011.

You can help from ANYWHERE....

• Check out the successful protest MindFreedom held in front of the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting! Click here for videos, photos and more about the historic "five five" [5 May 2012] event. Two hundred of us - mainly psychiatric survivors but also some allies - spoke and marched and creatively protested in front of thousands of psychiatrists at their annual meeting.

Below is more about the successful protest in Philadelphia - let's do these everywhere! Even a small group or individual can participate.

MindFreedom International (MFI) calls on mental health consumers, psychiatric survivors and all allies to boycott what is mistakenly called "normal," especially to resist the American Psychiatric Association's plan for a fifth edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

DSM-5 would be the latest edition of what is widely known as psychiatry's “label bible.”

We challenge what is mis-labeled 'normal' and celebrate creative maladjustment and neurodiversity. Please join us!

Your leadership is encouraged in all these activities, wherever you live, in the spirit of the occupy movement.

Even an individual can find creative activities to occupy the mental health industry, especially using Youtube and Facebook and Twitter.

But even an individual can do a lot, like find other individuals who care!

Let the world know.

The tag for this action is: #occupyapa
