Celia Brown Interviewed on Women's Radio

MFI Board President Celia Brown

MFI Board President Celia Brown was recently interviewed on the Women's Radio show, Speak Up!, a program that "invites women, and also men, who 'speak' to women in terms of their values, their goals and their strong sense of community, to address issues, opportunities and successes that need to be heard by a larger audience of women leaders." (From the Women's Radio website)

Celia writes, "I would like to thank Pat Lynch, Editor-in-Chief of Women's Radio, and Cindy Haffey, for interviewing me and for promoting MindFreedom. I think that this empowers women psychiatric survivor activists in the world and gives us a larger voice in a targeted audience of women leaders."

Leah Harris

Leah Harris, a second generation psychiatric survivor, discovered MindFreedom in 2000 when she was 25 years old. Her first act in the mad movement was to tell her story of oppression and resistance, and to help edit stories for MindFreedom's Oral History Project. Since then, she has been working in various ways to help achieve the vision of MindFreedom: an end to all forms of psychiatric oppression, healing of all forms of "normality," and the creation of vibrant, colorful communities that honor and celebrate diversity, difference, and the full range of human experience.
