Mary Maddock

13 December 2006 - From Cork, Ireland, guest Mary Maddock, a psychiatric survivor, author, and activist, discusses her new book, "Soul Survivor: A Personal Encounter with Psychiatry." A former nun, Mary spent 20 years in the psychiatric system being subjected to psychiatric drugs and electroshock. In 2000 she broke free, and became an activist who founded MindFreedom Ireland.

Ted Chabasinski

Ted received electroshock at the age of six, and spent 10 years of his youth locked up inside a state psychiatric institution. He became a psychiatric survivor movement leader in 1971, and later became an attorney. He has served on the board of MindFreedom International for several years. (Photo by Tom Olin)
