Peter Lehmann will be interviewed from his publishing house in Berlin, Germany. Peter survived the psychiatric system and created his own publishing house.

Peter has edited, co-authored and published many books and other materials in both English and German critical of the mental health system. Peter has also been in activist leader in many German, European and international psychiatric human rights groups.

Most recently, Peter acted as a representative of several of these groups in negotiations with the World Psychiatric Association to create moderated public dialogue about mental health system human rights violations.

Peter is co-editor of a brand new book that went to press last week, Alternatives Beyond Psychiatry.

  • Helped start a “run-away” house in Berlin for people escaping the psychiatric system.

The Story of MindFreedom Free Live Internet Radio

Since June 2006, the MindFreedom Radio Show has supported a nonviolent revolution in the mental health system. Leaders, authors, activists, mental health professionals, psychiatric survivors and others who are actively changing and challenging the current mental health system have been featured in live interviews. Listeners have called in from around the world.

The weekly show is hosted bypsychiatric rights activist David Oaks, director of MindFreedom. David also experienced the mental health system as a youth when he was institutionalized five times and diagnosed”schizophrenic.” For a brief bio about David click here.

The Progressive Radio Network produces the show along with several others from its studio in New York City. PRN was founded by radio personality and health activist leader Gary Null.
