Unite to Win Human Rights and Choice in Mental Health

Dear Reader of MindFreedom International News:

As the Executive Director of MindFreedom International, my personal message to you is NOT NORMAL.

But it is also truly urgent.

• Normally -- This MindFreedom International News service broadcasts free news about MindFreeedom International campaigns and events for a nonviolent revolution in the mental health system.
• Normally -- MFI tell yous you about the latest grassroots activism for human rights and alternatives in mental health.
• Normally -- We call on you to speak out with the MindFreedom International community about forced psychiatric drugging, involuntary electroshock, and the undue influence of the pharmaceutical industry. Many of you respond. Thank you.

Today's message is different:

It is urgent for you to support MindFreedom's independent activism now, more than ever, with your donation.

Many of you who read this are not yet MindFreedom members. Now is definitely the time to join. If you are a MFI member, thank you so much.

• Every day, the MindFreedom office is helping to support people harmed by human rights violations in mental health care.
• Every week, MindFreedom volunteers are networking with psychiatric survivors in and out of institution.
• MindFreedom is now creating a special handbook aimed to help psychiatric survivors in poor and developing countries, to challenge the globalization of psychiatric industry abuse.
• MindFreedom media, web site, and e-mail news continue to educate thousands of members in the public about psychiatric human rights violations, and the power of the psychiatric drug industry.
  
• And MindFreedom Campaigns continue to support Mad Pride events, Directory of Mental Health Alternatives, human rights alerts and so much more.

All of this is done without any funding from the mental health system, government or the psychiatric drug industry.
