Al Galves Receives Humanitarian Award
MindFreedom sponsor group International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology (ICSPP) awarded Al Galves, PhD with a special award at their annual meeting in Arlington, Virginia. Al is a board member of MindFreedom International.
ICSPP director Dominick Riccio, MD hands Al Galves the award at ICSPP 2007 annual conference in Arlington, Virginia.
Al Galves was presented with the ICSPP 2007 Distinguished Author and Humanitarian Award at the Annual Banquet on Saturday evening, October 13, 2007.
The award was recognition for the publishing of his book Lighten Up. Dance With Your Dark Side and for his work as a member of the ICSPP Board of Directors. Most of that work has involved helping to publicize the annual conference and increase the number of attendees.
Al said in his acceptance, "I am very excited to receive this award because I don't get a lot of awards."
Al added, "It is a total Win-Win when you get recognized for work that you enjoy doing and that I think is a great service to the people of our country - especially to those who are experiencing spiritual emergencies, emotional crises, difficult life dilemmas and frustrating obstacles."
Al lives in New Mexico.
