Heavy Load of England is composed of punk rock musicians, some of whom are learning disabled. A new film spotlights the band's success.

Below is forwarded news release about film documentary for UK punk rock group Heavy Load.

Heavy Load Film Premiere - 1st Oct, ICA, London

Film premiere

The UK premiere of Heavy Load, the feature length documentary about the band, will launch at the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts), in London, with a special fundraising screening on 1st October, 2008, followed by a gig ( + support) in aid of our Stay up Late campaign (calling for flexible support for people with disabilities so they can enjoy late night gigs and social events.)

We are also delighted to announce that Mencap will be supporting us in promoting the Stay Up Late message.

More details on where you can get your tickets and the prices will be available very soon.

The film will then be on general release at cinemas in the UK on 3rd October.

Selected tracks from our first (and hard to get hold of) first album are now available at the iTunes store, along with all of the new album.

Wild Things - sounds of the disabled underground Vol1. is a compilation we've put together featuring 16 different artists with learning disabilities. It's a wildly varied album and a must have for anyone with an interest in music, learning disabilities of self-advocacy.

All CDs cost £5 and proceeds got towards the Stay Up Late campaign.

That's all for now and we'll give you full details about the ICA night as soon as we know them.

Thanks for all your support and hope to see you on the 1st October.

Lots of love

Paul
