Meetings of the American Psychiatric Association
Here is how to find information about upcoming major meetings of the American Psychiatric Association. MindFreedom calls for nonviolent protest until and unless the APA engages in constructive dialogue about human rights, alternatives and the "power imbalance" in the mental health system today. [updated 22 Dec. 2010]
The American Psychiatric Association holds a wide variety of meetings.
At bottom find a schedule for APA's major meetings.
MindFreedom International has helped organize a number of nonviolent protests outside of these meetings, pointing out the APA's immense and unfair power in the mental health industry, its unwillingness to engage in true open dialogue with mental health consumers/psychiatric survivors, the undue influence of the pharmaceutical industry in the APA, and more.
MindFreedom encourages peaceful, civil protests everywhere the APA appears, until and unless the APA engages in true constructive dialogue, and takes a position against the severe human rights violations the APA has promoted, including forced electroshock and forced drugging.
